How many biographies or autobiographies have you ever read?  As I read more biographies, the one thing that crosses my mind is how their writings weren’t usually heeded during the authors’ lives.  Sometimes people would pay attention to what they wrote, published, preached or established.  The saddest point though is realizing that many people saw some of the same issues in their day or the beginning of a downturn in the Body of Christ that the Body faces today and overall wouldn’t see or agree with.  There were some whose writings and life prodded the Body to go the direction the Lord was leading.  Sometimes the Body was led astray as well.  I have read where people were unknowingly laying the foundation, which, after some time, growth began to sprout.
Francis Schaeffer was a pioneer of sorts.  What Fran and his family started would cause much growth in the Body.  For example, today we know that two things are extremely important and yet sadly neglected.  One is teaching that Genesis, in fact, is a true account of Creation and beginnings.  The Bible being infallible was the mainstay in the life of Mr. Schaeffer.  The second was learning to evangelize or share the message of salvation beginning at the beginning, showing God as the Creator.  In Schaeffer’s time, the Body tended to teach to reach the lost beginning with the New Testament.   We see many in the Body today using this same approach.  Too often the Body neglects teaching from the Old Testament overly focusing on the New.
Reading what others have done before us is so important for many reasons such as learning from their experiences, writings, and their lives as well as the lives of co-workers.  Another reason is perhaps seeing how they were blessed and what we may be called to complete or to build on.  Lives like Francis Schaeffer can help us glow brighter than ever before, reminding us of Whom we serve not what.  Read this amazing glance at a life lived totally surrendered to the Lord.  He led the way to a surrendered life and his family followed.
This book will hopefully wet your spiritual appetite to learn more about Schaeffer and become acquainted with his life and publications.
                My rating is 4 stars.

This whole series is so worth reading! They excel at suspense and grabbing the heart of the reader, pulling them into the plethora of happenings in the book. The series has a total of four books that can be read as stand-alone stories though I found reading them in order helped enhance my understanding of the plot and characters.
The titles in order are: Convenient Lies, Twisted Lies followed by Generous Lies, which comes before this final novel I am sharing my thoughts on today.Robin weaves such a well-crafted plot that brings the reader into the story from the first page, and then keep turning the pages with all the twists and turns in the plot.I felt like I was right there observing what was happening around me even though I was reading the book.
Time flew by quickly and I was unaware of what was going on around me because I was lost in the pages!Right th…
