Have you ever made a wish?  Or cry out to God with the desires of your heart?  I stare at the heavens some nights, looking at the stars, marveling that God made them, and me.  He knew many years ago that for me being alone was not going to be a good thing.  Soon I will celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary and like all relationships marriage takes work.  With a heart open to depending on the Lord, marriages can last.  Our relationship with God is an eternal one.  It takes work, a willingness to learn about the other and a heart of devotion no matter what trials come.  Relationships mean sacrifice, change, good times and bad, but come-what-may, we walk through it together.  With God, He sought us, bought us, and one day we will be with Him forever:  the ultimate love story.   Do you know Him as your Savior, lover of your soul, friend, Lord and more?
Fictional novels such as this are but a mere reflection of the greatest love story ever made and it is open to everyone.  I loved reading this novel in one sitting, getting to see how the characters would or would not chose God, as well as the outcome of their choices.  Learning to let go of what we think God has for us so we can embrace His best for us is a major tenet of the book.  A woman, who struggled with asthma and allergies when she was growing up, wants to be a doctor to help others.  Kendall excelled at not just treating the physical needs of her patients, but with compassion and a keen understanding of what they were going through.  Garret and Ian Walker are brothers who recently lost their parents, learning how to be a family unlike in their younger years.  Due to past mistakes, Garrett has to learn how to love his brother the way God loves him even though they are strangers due to Garrett away in the service so much.
There is such romance in this book that isn’t sappy, but real because of the love being found first in the individual character’s lives.  The setting is in Colorado where beautiful scenes are described so well I felt like I was there.  Of course, I am just giving you a small taste of what is contained in the pages, hoping you will read it for yourself and maybe even share it with others.  Above all, I hope when you read it you are reminded of God’s love for you.  His love knows no bounds and heals the brokenhearted.   Beth’s first novel Wish You Were Here was excellent as well.  This one is just a grand slam home run!  I am thankful for the author’s reminder of His love, forgiveness, healing touch and going in search of us when we have a tendency to not walk towards Him.  Like the Bible says “His love endures forever.”  Don’t pass up the opportunity to read Catch a Falling Star!
My rating for the novel is 5+ stars.
