Jennifer: An O'Malley Love Story (Novella)

Title:  Jennifer:  An O’Malley Love Story (Novella)
Author:  Dee Henderson
Pages:  160
Year:  2013
Publisher:  Bethany
Whew!  What a story!  This is a prequel to the O’Malley series written by Dee Henderson.  In this novella, the groundwork is laid for the main character, Jennifer, who is a renowned children’s doctor.  These children fight some harsh diseases and Jennifer’s job is to keep them healthy while they fight against other diagnoses.
It is an intense love story as a surgeon with a firm faith and laid back nature begins to develop a friendship with Jennifer.  He brings her with him to church, though she hasn’t gone for a long time.  This opens up a series of questions from Jennifer about God.  Soon, the friendship develops into more as they spend lots of time together, both professionally as well as personally.  Jennifer is soon to discover that the road ahead has a few mountains to climb.
The farther along I went in the story I pretty much guessed what was going to happen, but that didn’t  diminish the reading at all.  The heartfelt truth about God loving the characters no matter what and the hard questions asked of God when facing a mountain tugs at the heart.  Many people from the past, some today and those yet to come have asked hard questions of God and to God, yet He never fails to show Himself to any who seek with all their heart.
I loved how Tom, the surgeon, didn’t push Jennifer in her seeking, but supplied sources to her questions as well as answered the ones he could.  Jennifer’s love and concern for her family’s future is a true reflection of real life and real people, just as in the character of Tom.  More than anything, we must share Who we know and Who we love, praying that God will open hearts to come to Him.
My rating is 4 ½ stars.

This whole series is so worth reading! They excel at suspense and grabbing the heart of the reader, pulling them into the plethora of happenings in the book. The series has a total of four books that can be read as stand-alone stories though I found reading them in order helped enhance my understanding of the plot and characters.
The titles in order are: Convenient Lies, Twisted Lies followed by Generous Lies, which comes before this final novel I am sharing my thoughts on today.Robin weaves such a well-crafted plot that brings the reader into the story from the first page, and then keep turning the pages with all the twists and turns in the plot.I felt like I was right there observing what was happening around me even though I was reading the book.
Time flew by quickly and I was unaware of what was going on around me because I was lost in the pages!Right th…
