If you know anything about Hallee it is that not only does she write, but her other passion is homemaking.  Some of her recipes are simple and enticing; others have more ingredients that also sound delicious.  When reading her A Melody for James, I couldn’t help but see her ability to bring a variety of additives to the story, turning out a perfectly delicious offering that entices the reader to keep reading late into the night.
A Melody for James brings together characters from totally different professions with different gifts that make them successful in their field.  While it can create some friction, these gifts can also complement or complete the makeup of another player.  Here, a woman named Melody suffers from heartache and so does James, but neither know about the other at the time of the pain.  Through a “chance” meeting, their lives touch each other’s soul and heart, but not all is happiness for either of them at first.
Through a maze of life’s occurrences, they are separated from each other for some time.  During that time, each change in what some would consider 180 degrees, which makes the likelihood of meeting each other in the future unfavorable.  Or does it?  Kurt, James’ business partner, falls in love with a woman who loves to entertain and decorate.  When roses and threatening notes are left for Melody in various places and times, the police are finding it hard to discover the one meant to bring deadly harm to the successful singer.
With mystery, romances, along with faith are just a few of the elements that are brought to the book that will captivate the mind and race the heart of readers.  However, because of the brilliant mind of the author, this plot is more than just a “whodunit” type of adventure.  As I kept reading, I knew that something was cooking underneath all of the action and adventure.  With such real lifelike drama, I am sure you will come to the conclusion and discover what is being presented to her audience.
Here is one of those novels I didn’t want to rush through or get to the end as I enjoy a great conclusion I feel a letdown.  Immediately I start thinking or looking for what is coming next by the same author and how soon or I look at my stack to read with overflowing choices.  Have you heard the statement “all good things must come to an end”?  Do they?  Yes, in that a book is finished; no, because there are more books to read and discoveries to be made simply by turning the cover to page one.  Kudos Hallee!  Keep those stories coming!
                My rating is 5+ stars!
