Readers will continue to enjoy following Helen Meeker as she strives to uncover the multiple layers in an ongoing mystery set during Franklin D. Roosevelt’s time in office.  The story is first introduced in the episode titled A Date with Death, which not only sets the foundation for the tale but introduces a variety of characters that will both entertain and intrigue the audience.
The tension in this episode is palatable as Helen has two people whom she cares for who both need saving.  Helen’s personality for me is really enjoyable as she wars within herself to maintain composure in order to solve a problem with allowing her emotions or thoughts to have release.  Her sister Alison returns to school only to have her studies interrupted by men hired to bring about her demise.  Helen Meeker’s partner has been taken captive and no one knows for what purpose or his current location.
The ending of this episode is like holding your breath because it leaves the reader with a cliff hanger.  I can’t wait to read the next episode.  More layers in The Dark Pool have been added, more sleight of hand moves by the enemy and Helen’s energy is running low.  This is awesome storytelling by Ace Collins, who is one of my favorite authors.  I am sure your will enjoy the story too!
My rating is 5+ stars.
