Hold on tight because this book will take you for a most suspense-filled ride!  Following the Hunt family first introduced in Dangerous Passage, this second plot will keep you stuck to your seat until the last page is turned.  This book is also set in Atlanta, Georgia as is book one.  The main character in this book is Emily Hunt, sister of the main character in book one, Avery Hunt.  The male lead character, Mason Taylor, also appears briefly in book one.  I would read the first book before this one as it is a good read and will provide background for this second book.
Emily is a school teacher and looking forward to Christmas break which begins in a week.  She plans on shopping, eating lots of her mom’s cooking and sleeping in.  She is about to have a day that will change her life forever.  Before the school day begins, she receives a call from detective Mason Taylor.  He was her brother Michael’s partner before her brother was murdered a few months previously.  She met Mason several years ago and secretly had a crush on him at that time.  Now, he needs to talk to her about one of her students.  What happens after that brings back all her feelings for him, but they are much stronger now as they navigate through a day no one could ever imagine.
Mason Taylor used to be welcome in the Hunt family home, which he treasured as he grew up in a dysfunctional family where his father left when he was very young.  After Michael Hunt was murdered in the line of duty, Mason was a suspect, who was eventually cleared, but no longer felt welcome in the Hunt home as Michael’s sister, Avery, continued to think him guilty.  When he first met Emily, he asked her out, but she turned him down as he wasn’t a Christian at the time.  Recently, he turned his life over to Christ, but hasn’t pursued Emily romantically.  He receives an extremely distressing message from a high school student of Emily’s who Mason also works with via a big brother type organization.  As he spends more time with Emily, he realizes his feelings for her are still strong and thinks they might have a future together.  First they’ve got to survive this day to even talk about a future together.
This book is full of nonstop action.  There are multiple kidnappings, murder, hostage situations, and shootings.  I was riveted and read the book in a day because I just couldn’t put it down.  It was refreshing to see the romance begin to develop with God as a part of their relationship.  Don’t miss this great read!  The next book in the series isn’t due out until the spring of 2015, but I’ve already got it on my “watch for” list so I can be ready to snap it up to read once it is released.

My rating is 5 stars.

This whole series is so worth reading! They excel at suspense and grabbing the heart of the reader, pulling them into the plethora of happenings in the book. The series has a total of four books that can be read as stand-alone stories though I found reading them in order helped enhance my understanding of the plot and characters.
The titles in order are: Convenient Lies, Twisted Lies followed by Generous Lies, which comes before this final novel I am sharing my thoughts on today.Robin weaves such a well-crafted plot that brings the reader into the story from the first page, and then keep turning the pages with all the twists and turns in the plot.I felt like I was right there observing what was happening around me even though I was reading the book.
Time flew by quickly and I was unaware of what was going on around me because I was lost in the pages!Right th…
