Saving Christmas by Kirk Cameron

Title:  Saving Christmas Movie Review
Author:  Kirk Cameron
Year:  11/14/2014
Publisher:  Provident Films
While watching this movie, the first thought I had was that this is not a movie for little kids.  This is not a cartoon or light-hearted story; it is a teaching movie.  I appreciated how the movie speaks of God creating, that He gave us His Son, and how God’s truth has been twisted in history via various many ancient peoples and teachings.  The movie can help bring back the majesty and awesome blessing of what the God of the universe has done for us!
I know some people who read the birth of Jesus from the Bible every year sometimes before anyone can open presents, and there is nothing wrong with this tradition.  There is ancient history and Biblical history that is shared and helps us know why we celebrate this special day.  Parts of the movie I think challenge one and all to share the truth behind our Christmas celebration and the history that should compel us to share with others who need a change of view or a change of perspective.  Stories and traditions can be powerful tools with which to share hope to a world surely needing a huge infusion!
As you go to see this movie, try to leave expectations outside and be open to a movie that is different than anything you have ever seen or heard before now!  May this year be seen through the eyes of the child in all of us!
My rating is 4 stars.
