Triple Threat (Pure Genius #4)

Title:  Triple Threat (Pure Genius #4)
Author:  H. L. Wegley
Pages:  264
Year:  2014
Publisher:  Harbourlight Books
In this fourth installment in the Pure Genius series, the action, drama and romance focus on Katie Brandt, the adopted daughter of Lee and Jenn Brandt.  Katie is writing her dissertation for her doctorate and the subject matter is some research that Jenn had begun, but not finished.  When Katie begins to run some tests and algorithms, she discovers a plot of terrorism aimed at the convention center during a time when it is filled with children, including her baby brother and sister as well as Jenn.  Katie enlists the help of fellow student Josh West to help her stop the terrorist.  Will they be in time?
Katie soon invites Josh to help her in her research as there is more than enough information for them each to write their dissertations from.  Josh accepts, seeing this as more opportunity to spend time with the beautiful Katie.  Katie thinks Josh is handsome and reliable, but can’t think of a future with him as he isn’t a Christian.  Katie’s faith has been birthed through the extreme trials of her childhood and teenage years.  She won’t give it up for anyone or anything.  As they begin their research, Katie knows they are going to find more terrorist groups and vows to stop them no matter what.  She thinks with her heart and acts on impulse, so Josh is there to keep her safe.  As they uncover more sinister plots that threaten millions of Americans, they also uncover their feelings for one another.  Josh’s beliefs are founded on nothing he quickly discovers as Katie logically lays out her reasons for her faith in Jesus.
I liked the action and Katie’s willingness to share her faith regardless of the outcome of a relationship.  She wants Josh to know Jesus above everything else so he is ready to enter eternity and experience heaven.  I was lost in some of the computer terms used, which detracted a bit from my enjoyment of the story, but I could still follow the plot.  I suggest reading the books in order beginning with Hide and Seek, On the Pineapple Express, Moon over Maalaea Bay and ending with Triple Threat.  The entire series is full of action, adventure, romance and lives lived for God.  The books are relatively short and would make an excellent Christmas gift so don’t miss this series!
My rating is 4 stars.
