Old Fashioned Movie Review & Giveaway

Title: Old Fashioned
Format: DVD
Year: 2015
Studio: Pure Flix Ent
My rating is 5+ stars!
There were no preconceived ideas about the movie prior to viewing with my almost 22-year-old son. What the movie portrays never entered my thoughts, and I was amazed by the story from beginning to end! Without a doubt anyone can sit in a room, watch the movie and come away personally impacted.
The two main characters aren’t teenagers; they are adults with a broken past, one which brought them shame. They then each approached any new relationship very differently because of that, causing misunderstandings. Clay approached relationships with rules while Amber came at it from the other end of the spectrum by trying to forget the past. Neither of them at first understood the other and yet through their budding friendship deep heartfelt knowledge was born.
Clay stuck to some of his boundaries because they were to prevent him from falling back into his past behavior. Amber began to open her heart up to understanding what home, real faith and true love looked, spoke and acted like in a relationship. Clay had to understand how truly deep God’s love for him was as well as how he was using grace and mercy as a wall to keep others out instead of letting those two truths break down the walls around his heart.
I will tell you that my son and I had a wonderfully deep-hearted discussion afterwards. While my husband and I taught our sons the difference between dating and courtship, it was at first hard for our first born son to live those truths daily. When you are ready to watch this movie, please sit your kids, friends, nieces, or nephews down and share the experience. Don’t be afraid to talk about the movie or the ideas it presents.
God never, ever even hinted living for Him would be easy; however, what he did promise is that He would never leave nor forsake us. God also has given us His Holy Spirit to empower us to live our lives differently in front of others. I am sharing this movie with people and for some I will buy them their own copy. It’s a powerful reminder of the blessing and the cost of a taking a stand, unashamedly and without apology of choosing to live with and for Him rather than the world.

This whole series is so worth reading! They excel at suspense and grabbing the heart of the reader, pulling them into the plethora of happenings in the book. The series has a total of four books that can be read as stand-alone stories though I found reading them in order helped enhance my understanding of the plot and characters.
The titles in order are: Convenient Lies, Twisted Lies followed by Generous Lies, which comes before this final novel I am sharing my thoughts on today.Robin weaves such a well-crafted plot that brings the reader into the story from the first page, and then keep turning the pages with all the twists and turns in the plot.I felt like I was right there observing what was happening around me even though I was reading the book.
Time flew by quickly and I was unaware of what was going on around me because I was lost in the pages!Right th…
