Jared Donnelly has returned to his home town after being away for fifteen years, riding the motocross circuit after some troubled and tough teenage years.  He has an idea for helping troubled youths as well as helping the local economy, but will his idea get shot down by the town council?  Upon his return, he runs into an old crush of his from high school, Becca Norton.  Once he spends some time with her, he realizes he still has feelings for her.
Becca Norton is a high school teacher and divorced mother of two children.  Her finances are not in the best shape so she is forced to work at the church day care over the summer to earn extra money.  The pastor’s wayward brother has returned home with plans to build a motocross school with a racetrack practically in Becca’s backyard.  Becca secretly had a crush on Jared in high school, but never told anyone.  Now, as she sees him so mature and wanting to give back to the community as well as follow God’s plan for his life, she wants to have a relationship with him.  As the newest member of the town council, will she vote against Jared’s plans to placate her ex-in-laws who are threatening her with a child custody battle?  Becca struggles with her decision, but relies on God to provide the answer.
These Love Inspired books are great for when readers have a little time, but not a lot.  They are short, usually around 200 pages, and easy to read.  The lessons evident in this particular story are forgiveness, taking our problems to the Lord first and not as a last resort and doing what is right in His sight to name a few.  I have several more of these enjoyable reads that I look forward to sharing with you soon.
My rating is 4 stars.
