Breach of Trust
Title: Breach of Trust
Author: Kathi Oram Peterson
My rating 5+ out of 5 stars.
The story involves many different threads that come together to form a most intriguing as well as heart-pounding novel of suspense! Lt. Commander Cooper Lane was a pilot on a helo during a dangerous assignment when her world drastically changed. When all hope of returning to America was lost a local family in Afghanistan cared for her and protected her at great cost.
Cooper’s husband was notified of her crash and after time he resumed life, taking care of his then infant daughter. Now, Coop has been rescued by a Navy SEAL and in time Cooper wants to reunite with her daughter as she continued to heal from wounds, both physical and mental. As she sits in her old home talking with Tom, a bullet smashes through the front window and life for Cooper takes a virtual unbelievable rollercoaster ride!
Throughout the novel, the writer keeps readers in spell binding suspense as Cooper is the number one suspect in the man’s murder. The local sheriff is out to get her. People who know or helped Cooper in any way end up dead and the mystery builds with incredible speed. I enjoyed how the author brought to the forefront the way those who serve our country and their families might go through a variety of hardships and life with someone suffering from PTSD.
Spellbound is a good way to describe the many ways the author kept me wanting to read more as she would leave trails in my mind of possible people who might have motive to go after Cooper. There is romance, danger, and action that can be easily seen as realistic because they are close to headlines from the past or present. I cannot wait to see if the author will write another military suspense/thriller that will keep me engrossed as this story did. Either way, don’t pass up this outstanding book!
