My rating is 5 stars.

Oh my, has Lisa Harris written a great suspense-filled, tension-inducing thriller with this second book in the Nikki Boyd series!  This book centers around a woman, Lucy, who goes missing amidst the death of her husband and several other people.  Lucy’s husband worked for a pharmaceutical company, but had hired a private detective to get information proving the company is producing counterfeit drugs and putting them on the market to sell to people as if they were the genuine drug.  Who is after Lucy and why are they willing to kill to find her?  Nikki and her partner Jack are tasked with finding the woman while the local officials handle the murders.  However, one lead after another seems to result in death and Nikki is no closer to finding Lucy.

During her investigation, Nikki struggles to keep her true feelings from Tyler, best friend’s husband.  Her best friend, Katie, was killed in a boating accident 13 months previously and Nikki has done what she can to help Tyler through his grief by being a good friend.  Tyler is struggling to move forward in his life, but is unhappy with his current career choice.  He misses the challenge and adrenaline rush of being a soldier.  He has an opportunity for a security job overseas.  Nikki fears he will come back changed if he goes, but she encourages him to do what he must to be happy.  She tries her best to stay focused on the case, which becomes essential as Tyler becomes a target of the criminals who are searching for Lucy.

I really like how the relationship between Nikki and Tyler is progressing.  Nikki is very aware of Tyler’s grief and puts his needs before her own at great personal sacrifice.  This shows how much she loves him.  I also like how Nikki prays in the midst of her troubles and God answers.  I hope there will be resolution for Nikki and her family regarding the disappearance of her sister, Sarah, ten years ago.  That is a mystery I want solved!  I am so pumped for book three in the series which is to be released in the spring of this year!  This is one series not to miss if you are an action-loving, suspense-seeking reader.  Get a copy of book one, Vendetta, as well as this second book and prepare to be entertained.

This whole series is so worth reading! They excel at suspense and grabbing the heart of the reader, pulling them into the plethora of happenings in the book. The series has a total of four books that can be read as stand-alone stories though I found reading them in order helped enhance my understanding of the plot and characters.
The titles in order are: Convenient Lies, Twisted Lies followed by Generous Lies, which comes before this final novel I am sharing my thoughts on today.Robin weaves such a well-crafted plot that brings the reader into the story from the first page, and then keep turning the pages with all the twists and turns in the plot.I felt like I was right there observing what was happening around me even though I was reading the book.
Time flew by quickly and I was unaware of what was going on around me because I was lost in the pages!Right th…
